About the position

As a process engineer, you will belong to the Process Development and Logistics section, which is an important part of SSAB Luleå's production. The steel mill is responsible for the manufacture of blanks with associated processes from sulfur purification to substance handling. The section consists of several process engineers who support the production in process and quality related issues.

The development of new steels is a challenging task in the work of constantly improving quality, productivity and availability in the lines. Our ambition is to do this in parallel with developing employees and organization towards a safe and developing work.

Your responsibility as a process engineer is to follow up and develop our process in close cooperation with operators and other production staff and great emphasis will therefore be placed on your personal qualities.

Your main responsibilities

  • Follow up and evaluate process data
  • Conduct and participate in cause analysis and plan actions in case of process-related production disturbances
  • Investigate and follow up quality deviations
  • Participate in the development of common working methods
  • Identify and drive improvement activities in process development
  • Participate in process-related investment projects
  • Plan and implement training of operators


About you

  • You are a civil engineer with a specialization in metallurgy and process industry or equivalent.
  • You are an open, positive and responsive team player who is able to cooperate with other people in close dialogue.
  • You are analytical and work in a structured manner with good order, take your own initiative and have the ability to plan and control your own work.
  • You are easy to express yourself in speech and writing and have the ability to influence and engage.
  • You contribute with your personality to well-being and job satisfaction at work and are positively disposed to change and development.
