Are you the one?

We are now looking for a development-oriented and tech-savvy Project Assistant/Design Engineer who enjoys working on mechanical engineering projects. Location: Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means embarking on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet’s future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future—in our homes, in the bridges that connect our cities, and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we’re proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we’re aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. We have therefore developed the world’s first fossil-free steel production process and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play a key role in achieving this goal and thereby contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the Position

As a Project Assistant, you’ll be part of a dedicated team working to develop and improve our production facilities.

Your main responsibilities

You will be part of a team of engineers who, in close collaboration with production and maintenance, develop and improve our existing and new production facilities. Your tasks will include feasibility studies, project planning, design, implementation, and documentation.

Your role is to ensure that existing plant documentation systems are managed and kept up to date. We are currently in the process of replacing our existing systems, so an important part of this role is to contribute to this effort.

If you have a background in mechanical engineering, the role involves performing mechanical engineering tasks in addition to your work with construction documentation.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in construction documentation within the industrial sector or another relevant background. We believe you are an organized individual who values structure, is curious about new technology, and has an interest in managing documentation systems.

Knowledge of design work in mechanical engineering, construction, or media is an asset for this position.

You are well-versed in working in CAD and drafting environments. For the right person, the role may eventually include system administration responsibilities for our CAD systems.

We envision this role being filled by a responsible, proactive, and collaborative individual with the ability to deliver results. It is also important for this position that you are organized and responsive. One of your driving forces is building relationships and trust. We require that you are fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

You are now looking for a responsible and varied role as a project assistant/design engineer in the process industry.
