SSAB - Security Strategist
Luleå, Sverige
Type of Employment Full-time
Job position Security Coordinator
Work model On location
Application due date 30 September 2026
Are you the one?

Do you have experience with operational and strategic work related to security issues? Would you like to help develop SSAB Luleå’s security efforts regarding perimeter security, surveillance, and other security matters? We invite you to apply for a key role in our transition to fossil-free production.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey—a journey we believe is crucial for the planet’s future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future—in our homes, in the bridges that connect our cities, and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world’s first fossil-free steel production process and have committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play a key role in achieving this goal and thereby contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

Over the next few years, SSAB Luleå will be transforming its steel production. This will entail new conditions and requirements in all areas related to the physical security of the operations. In this role at SSAB Luleå, you will have overall responsibility for security-related issues, both strategically and operationally. An important part of the job will be to develop and clarify work methods, organization, and collaboration within the security field.

Your main areas of responsibility

  • Drive and develop how security work is managed during the establishment, implementation, and transition to our future steel production
  • Responsibility for contracts, agreements, and partnerships in the security field, and developing these to meet the needs of existing and future operations and the current security climate
  • Coordinate and manage projects, updates, and changes in the security field; assume budget responsibility
  • Be responsible for liaising with regulatory authorities in this area
  • You will report to and collaborate with the local management team

About You

  • We are looking for someone with solid experience in operational and strategic security work and a proven track record of success.
  • We expect you to have a strong command of both Swedish and English and to be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • You are driven, communicative, and confident in stepping up and providing clear direction when needed.
  • To succeed in this role, you’ll need a humble approach and the ability to work comfortably both independently and as part of a team, depending on the task.
  • A Class B driver’s license is required.
