Are you the one?

We are looking for a skilled SAP Solution Architect with expertise in IBP, particularly in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Execution (S&OE). If you have a proven track record of translating complex business requirements into robust solution architectures, thrive in collaborative environments, and are committed to delivering high-quality solutions that align business and IT, we want to hear from you!

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is essential for the sustainability of this planet. Steel has been one of the most important materials for developing our society and it will continue to be so. In the roofs over our heads, in the bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB we are proud of our history and leadership in high-strength steel. But we are also aware that the production of steel is one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. That is why we have developed the world’s first fossil free steel production and has committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB you will be instrumental in realizing this goal and push for the green transformation of the whole steel industry.

About the position

As a Solution Architect for S&OP (SAP IBP), you will have overall end-to-end technical responsibility for SSAB’s integrated S&OP/S&OE solution, acting as the owner of the SAP IBP solution. This includes solution areas of Supply Planning, Demand Planning, and S&OP related material definition, also known as Planning Items. You will work closely with both business and IT teams to design, guide, and implement the solution across the organization, enabling integrated planning, efficient execution, and data-driven decision-making. You will also oversee the technical integration with Microsoft Fabric and ensure that the solution aligns with SSAB’s broader IT landscape. You will report to the Head of Business Platform.

This role is part of the Aurora Program, which is responsible for developing the business processes and IT systems required to operate SSAB’s new mini-mills for fossil-free steel production. A primary objective of the program is to ensure full readiness for the start-up of the Luleå mini-mill by the end of 2029.

Main responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end technical ownership of the integrated S&OP/S&OE solution, acting as the SAP IBP solution owner, ensuring alignment with business processes and supporting operating model development.
  • Participate in detailed design of data extraction and Microsoft Fabric-related topics.
  • Lead and guide build teams to ensure correct system configuration and high solution quality.
  • Lead technical IBP discussions and coordinate with other Solution Architects to align IT solutions with business requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical and implementation roadmaps following SSAB guidelines.
  • Proactively identify and resolve solution-related issues, conflicts, and timeline challenges.

About You

  • Approximately 10 years of experience in IT development for enterprise needs, ideally in large-scale business change projects where IT is a key enabler.
  • Proven experience with SAP IBP, including solution setup, modeling integrated S&OP processes in SAP and non-SAP landscapes.
  • Having a “Clean Core” solution mindset and “standardization” as thought process.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other cloud-based data platforms, including data modeling and technical connectivity.
  • Proven experience of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) implementations.
  • Strong ability to design end-to-end solution architectures, translating business requirements into integrated IT solutions and resolving conflicting needs.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English. Fluent Finnish and/or Swedish is a plus.
  • Prior experience implementing large scale IT-solutions in steel or similar industries is a strong advantage.
