About the position

You will work with colleagues on system design, both with new construction and modification/updating of existing systems, problem solving, plant development, documentation, and commissioning of new machines in our plants. You mainly participate in two different workflows in the form of projects and in work order flow.

Collaboration with the production sections/departments is important and your most common contact areas will consist of maintenance technicians, operating technicians and external suppliers, internal staff and contractors.

You will belong to the Technology Systems section in the Technology Sheet Metal department. The group consists of about 19 system designers who work towards the Rolling Mill's facilities. We work in area groups where mechanical, electrical and system designers work together with three different production departments.

We offer you developing and stimulating days where you yourself or together with other designers are responsible for system design and automation of machines and plants within the Rolling Mill. With us, you get the opportunity to get close to reality and follow projects from idea to commissioning.

Your main responsibilities

  • Drive the development and maintenance of automation systems on existing and new plants
  • Program PLC control systems such as Siemens SIMATIC S7 but also be trained in our proprietary control system ProveiwR
  • Projecting, development and construction and also documentation of control systems for machines at our plants
  • Conduct risk assessment and orders linked to work orders/projects
  • Assist in the development of plant and working methods
  • Commissioning of machines and plants
  • Assist operation/maintenance with technical support and support
  • Conduct tests and validations on system designs


About you

  • You have at least a 2-year education as an Automation Engineer or a Vocational Education or Mechanical Engineering education with a focus on automation technology or equivalent experience.
  • We value professional experience as e.g. automation designer and drive systems. We see it as a strong merit if you have experience from the manufacturing industry or the process industry.
  • Experience in programming in PLC and industrial safety control systems such as PLUTO as well as experience in C / C ++ is meritorious.
  • You thrive on technical challenges, you have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with complex problems and are solution-oriented in your work.
  • You plan and organize your own work, are driven and have the ability to make your own decisions.
  • Good collaboration skills are important and you have an open approach, are responsive and adapt solutions to needs that arise.
  • You are fluent in Swedish and English and have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
