About the position

Product development for Hot Rolled and Cold Rolled products is looking for two holiday temps.

The purpose of the summer work is twofold:

1.Map the properties of the regular product for the upcoming conversion to EAF in Oxelösund. The focus will be on metallographic examination. This includes casting and polishing of samples with subsequent analysis e.g. LOM, SEM, hardness measurement.

2.Evaluate the sensitivity of different products to hydrogen. The work involves continuing to evaluate materials according to existing methods at KSC in Borlänge.

The following steps will be included:

-Write an activity plan with test matrix

-Perform testing

-Compile the results

-Oral and written reporting

Working hours are daytime.

About you

  • Current college or university education in materials engineering, metallurgy or similar technical field.
  • Basic knowledge of metallography and material analysis (LOM, SEM, hardness measurement) is meritorious.
  • Ability to work structured and independently with test plans and documentation.
  • Good analytical skills and interest in problem solving.
  • You have good knowledge of Swedish and English.
