SSAB - Transition Strategist - Production Transition
Luleå, Sverige
Type of Employment Full-time

Application due date 21 March 2026
Are you the one?

Do you have the drive, commitment and experience needed to contribute to SSAB's journey towards fossil-free steel production? We are now looking for a Transition Strategist for our Production Transition department - a unique opportunity to help shape the future of production. Do you want to be part of a crucial stage in our development and make a real difference? Then this is the role for you. Location Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

We are looking for you who want to work in a key role where you get to analyze, plan and implement strategic changes in our production operations to ensure that we are equipped for the steel production of the future. The role involves working in a structured and long-term way on how our business will be organized, staffed and operated in connection with the transition.

You will be a key player in the work on our future organization, routines and working methods, skills development, plans for parallel operation and the start-up of our new factory.

This means that you work both strategically and operationally - from analysis and planning to implementation and follow-up.

There are great opportunities to contribute with your skills in a dynamic and flexible environment where we value ideas, innovation and you as a person.

Your main responsibilities

  • Drive the work of shaping an effective organization with clear goals, strong collaboration and the right skills in the right place at the right time.
  • Strategically develop and plan parallel operations to ensure a controlled and stable transition between current and future production.
  • Initiate, lead and implement strategic projects linked to the production transition.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders within SSAB to ensure well-planned and effective competence development.
  • Follow up, analyze and evaluate implemented changes and communicate results and recommendations.

About you

  • A degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience is a requirement, preferably with a focus on industrial economics or a similar field.
  • Fluent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience of working in consultant-like roles or project forms where you drive assignments from start to finish is meritorious.
  • Experience in change management is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach.
  • Understanding of how people are affected by change and a good ability to cooperate with others.
  • You are a team player with your own drive, take the initiative and create momentum in your work.
