Seeking an open-minded and dedicated midwife for a full-time (100%) temporary position.

The midwifery service in Stange consists of 3.0 positions shared among 3 midwives. We are a highly skilled team with a positive work environment. We are constantly working to improve our services and emphasize the importance of everyone staying up to date professionally. The service focuses on early intervention and interdisciplinary collaboration.

There are approximately 200 births per year in Stange Municipality. In addition to prenatal care and postpartum home visits, we offer postpartum checkups, Pap smears, and contraception counseling, including the insertion of LARCs.  

Prenatal and postpartum care are an integral part of the health clinic, under the municipal department of Child and Family Services. Our overarching goal is to ensure that newborns get a solid start in life, and that parents feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Job Responsibilities

• Providing prenatal care to expectant mothers through checkups in accordance with pregnancy care guidelines.
• Guiding and supporting the expectant mother and her partner based on their individual needs.
• Assess, plan, and organize interventions in collaboration with other professional groups and agencies.
• Postpartum care, including early home visits after childbirth.
• Contraceptive counseling. Experience with Pap smears and LARC insertion is preferred.
• Participate in professional development alongside colleagues.

Qualifications

• You are a licensed midwife.
• You have experience in prenatal care.
• You are authorized to prescribe contraceptives.
• You are familiar with Hspro or another similar documentation system.
• You have a good command of spoken and written Norwegian
• Class B driver’s license.
