Do you want to lead a department and at the same time be close to the classroom? We are looking for heads of department for a newly created role at Stangeskolen.
We will be hiring nine heads of department, divided between Hoberg and Stange primary schools and Stange secondary school, starting on August 1, 2026.
As head of department, you will play an important role in creating a professional and learning-oriented environment for both staff and pupils. You lead your own department with responsibility for personnel, finance and subjects, while becoming an active part of the school's management team. Together with the principal, assistant principal and the rest of the management team, you will help to find good and practical solutions that strengthen the quality of the school.
You will combine managerial responsibility with teaching, giving you a varied working day where you get to both use your professional expertise and build on your leadership skills. Since the position is newly created, you will also have the opportunity to influence how the role develops over time - both in your own department and across the business and Stangeskolen.

Tasks
- Ensure a safe and good learning environment, well-being and development of all students
- Interdisciplinary collaboration on the upbringing of children and young people
- Actively contribute to the school's development work as part of the school's management team
- Management of steps with staff responsibility
- Maintain administrative tasks in collaboration with the management team such as substitute management, HSE work.
- Other tasks may be assigned based on needs and expertise
Qualifications
- Requirements for pedagogical education and experience of teaching in primary school.
- Desirable with leadership experience and education in school management or a commitment to complete principal education within 3 years from appointment
- You can show good results in learning environment and learning results
- Very good Norwegian skills both orally and in writing
- A valid police certificate must be presented before appointment, cf. Oppll. §17-11
