Mechanic - DRI plant
Location: Boden

You will work with mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and contribute to a safe and efficient production flow.
About the role
As a mechanic in our team at the DRI site you will be part of the Mechanical Maintenance Unit and report to the Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of key equipment in the DRI plant. Together with operators, technicians and engineers, you will work to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operating conditions in one of Sweden's most ambitious initiatives for sustainable steel production.
Duties
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Inspect equipment for wear, vibration and lubrication and take preventive measures.
- Contribute to the optimization of maintenance programs and improvement work in the plant. Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment, including the application of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and cleaning procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education, preferably with a focus on industry, technology or mechanics.
- Practical experience as a mechanic, preferably in heavy industry or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures .
- Knowledge of Swedish and European safety regulations is meritorious.
- Willing to work shifts if necessary.
- Good knowledge of English; Swedish is meritorious.

Our Boden site is located in the middle of a growing green industrial area in northern Sweden. Here we are building one of the world's most modern and sustainable steel industries - just 10 minutes from the city center.
