What you’ll do

The Shift Manager for the Planning and Shipping will be responsible for handling activities during the shift to keep operations running smoothly within the logistical side of the steel mill. In this role you will focus on safety, quality, and performance while guiding a team and working with other departments to meet goals. You'll ensure tasks are done efficiently, support teamwork, and keep communication flowing for steady production and on-time schedules.

In this role you'll report to the production manager for Planning and Shipping and work within Stegra Boden operations organization. The team is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the packaging lines and shipping area, handling all packages going in and out from our working site. As a shift manager your team will ensure that production targets are met in terms of volume, quality, and schedule.

Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. In the build up the job may vary depending on what's needed to finalize the build up before the production starts.

  • Manage and lead the shift team in the day-to-day work
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the packaging lines and shipping area. Ensure that production targets are met in terms of volume, quality, and schedule
  • Maintain high standards of quality in the product. Ensure that all packaging lines and shipping area operations meet the required specifications.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime by ensuring that maintenance work is carried out efficiently and without disruption to production schedules.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues during the shift. This includes equipment failures and quality issues

What you’ll bring

Specific to this role, we would like to see that you can tick off a fair amount of the boxes below

  • 5+ years of experience within planning and shipping OR logistics
  • Previous leadership experience from the logistics branch
  • Knowledge and experience working with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Experience from steel industry with logistics focus is highly preferred
  • Very good skills in English.
