As a Shipping Operator, you’ll be part of our Planning and Shipping team, reporting to the Logistics Operation Manager. In this role, you’ll ensure our steel products are loaded, stored, and shipped safely and accurately. You’ll operate equipment such as forklifts and cranes to load coils onto rail cars or trucks, verify shipments through label scanning, and maintain high housekeeping standards in the warehouse. You’ll also support new team members through training, take prompt action to resolve production issues, and actively contribute to improving our safety practices and process controls.

What you’ll do:

  • Safely load coils into rail cars or onto trucks, ensuring compliance with saftey guidelines.
  • Scan labels to ensure coils are correctly located in the warehouse and shipped to the right destination.
  • Assist with the training of new employees, sharing knowledge and ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Together with the rest of the team, maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the warehouse.
  • Take proper action when encountering failures or deviations affecting production; report these issues and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Actively contribute to foster a safe work environment by participating in the development and up keep of process control and safety practices.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in heavy industry, preferably in a steel mill, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
  • Practical skills in operating forklifts and/or overhead cranes.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial and logistics safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to working safely and independently.
  • Physical capability to work in demanding environments and at heights.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and actively promote a strong safety culture.
  • EU Driving license B is required. Other certifications, such as crane, forklift, or other heavy vehicles are considered a plus
  • Good English skills; basic Swedish skills are a plus.

About Stegra

Stegra is on a mission to change the global steel industry by producing green hydrogen, iron, and steel - with the goal of eliminating CO₂ emissions. Instead of coal, we use green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity, meaning our primary emissions will be water and heat.

By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitized, and sustainable plant in Boden, Northern Sweden - currently under construction.
