In Sweco Environment Region North, we want to strengthen our expertise in reindeer husbandry investigations and reindeer husbandry analyzes. We are therefore looking for new colleagues who want to contribute with expertise and experience in Sweco's reindeer husbandry activities.
We currently have a specialized team that works with reindeer husbandry issues together. We have weekly meetings where we help each other with the assignments. Sweco has good support material for working with reindeer husbandry issues and a major emphasis in the work is on making joint assessments.
Your future role
As a consultant specializing in reindeer husbandry, you will work with investigations into how various activities or new establishments such as mining, power lines or wind power can affect the interests of reindeer husbandry. In your work, you contribute to a constructive dialog between parties who in many cases have very different perceptions of the degree of impact and you need to feel confident in being an objective party who leads the parties through the process.
Other tasks in the environmental field, such as work with infrastructure, issues of wildlife passages, environmental impact assessments, nature value inventories, wind power or aquatic environments may also be relevant depending on your skills and interests.
The person we are looking for - is it you?
You have a relevant educational background (post-secondary degree in a relevant subject area). You have good knowledge and familiarity with reindeer husbandry issues and relevant work experience in the field.
You have knowledge of applicable laws and rights and may have previously worked with, for example, EIA, planning process, environmental law, nature inventories and / or wildlife biology in government, municipality or consulting business. It is a great advantage if you have experience of dialog with Sami villages and / or have a built-up contact network with Sami villages in Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland or Jämtland counties.
As a person, you are communicative and adapt your communication to your counterpart. You need to be responsive, be able to build and manage trust and be able to handle changing conditions and uncertainties. You are able to drive your work forward and take responsibility for completing projects. You enjoy working independently as well as belonging to and contributing in a team.
Possible locations
As a starting point, placement takes place at one of our offices in Kiruna, Gällivare, Jokkmokk, Boden, Luleå or Piteå.
