Do you have knowledge of the values of nature and want to contribute to the conscious management of natural resources? Sweco's biologists create solutions to protect nature and biodiversity.

We are now looking for a natural environment consultant with field experience to complement our team in the northern region.

Your future role

 

As a natural environment officer with us, you will work in various projects together with our competent colleagues at Sweco. You will have opportunities to develop in your role and take responsibility. We work closely with our customers in both large and small projects and place great emphasis on creating sustainable partnerships with our clients.

In your new role you will for example work with:

  • Natural value inventories of various natural environments
  • Inventory specific species groups for which you have expertise, such as birds, bats or amphibians
  • Write reports as a basis for permit assessments, municipal plans and infrastructure planning
  • Conduct species protection investigations
  • Work out adaptations, protection and compensation measures to minimize the damage to biodiversity and create new natural values
  • Support our customers in how to make their projects accessible with regard to biodiversity

The position also includes monitoring the business environment and processing and developing our market through customer visits and marketing our services, to both new and existing customers.

The person we are looking for - is it you?

 

The applicant has a great interest and experience in inventory. You have good field experience and may have in-depth knowledge of some species groups. You are focused on either the terrestrial or limnic environment. The work is often independent, but there is of course the opportunity for support and cooperation with other colleagues. As a person, you are committed to the job, with a willingness to look after our customers as well as your colleagues. You have an understanding of our customers' challenges and needs.

We are looking for you who:

  • Have a college or university education in biology, ecology or equivalent
  • Have a few years of experience working with the natural environment
  • Have experience of inventory and nature value assessment. It is meritorious with experience of nature value inventory according to Swedish standard (SS19900:2023)
  • Have good knowledge of Swedish habitats and good species knowledge. Preferably in-depth expertise in one or more species groups, preferably birds
  • Have easy to express yourself in speech and writing and used to writing texts and reports
  • Have good GIS knowledge
  • Have a B driving license

Possible locations

 

As a starting point, placement takes place at one of our offices in Kiruna, Gällivare, Jokkmokk, Boden, Luleå or Piteå.
