In the Solar System Physics and Space Engineering research program, we explore the solar system. The working group consists of scientists and engineers with different specialties working together to develop and deliver space instruments for national and international scientific satellites. Projects are usually carried out together with ESA, NASA and other major space agencies. Duties
We are primarily looking for an engineer to work with:
In the main, you will work independently with project responsibility for hardware integration and testing. The position involves international collaborations. Travel may be involved.
You should have an interest in both hardware, testing of space instruments, technical documentation and project management. You will be part of IRF's experienced team of engineers. You will be a resource for other projects in project management, production and quality management, and technical documentation and testing. You will also work on the development of IRF's SpaceLab test facility (https://spacelab.irf.se/)
The position involves technical hands-on work, such as integration, handling, and testing of space hardware.
Qualifications
Engineering education at university level or other technical education with additional professional experience deemed relevant by the employer.
You should have the following knowledge:
The work requires a high level of independence, accuracy, initiative and the ability to solve problems in many technical areas. Good interpersonal skills within the team as well as with external parties are essential. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Due to the extensive international contacts, it is important that you can express yourself very well in speech and writing in English.

Terms and conditions
The position is a permanent full-time position with location at IRF's head office in Kiruna. IRF applies individual salary setting. Access according to agreement.
