As a network engineer, you will work in a global network team of 15 people. Your role will include a dynamic mix of operational excellence, customer and system deployment, troubleshooting, incident and ticket management and participating in global projects.

Examples of tasks:

  • act as 2nd line support for the SSC organization / NOC and our customers
  • troubleshooting
  • preventive maintenance including creation of maintenance plan for network devices
  • test services, validate, implement and hand over to operation
  • documentation
  • handling of cases regarding incidents, internal improvements, handling of change management tickets in the network for routers, switches and firewalls
  • support internal and external projects with networking expertise
  • participate in Network Services activities or projects
  • contribute to standardization work for network services with a perspective from SSC's needs
  • actively improve our testing and monitoring platforms such as Solarwinds, Hawkeye, Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, etc
  • training of 1st line support, e.g. SSC Global NOC
  • this position involves on-call (24/7) on a rolling schedule within the team.


To thrive as a network engineer, you are a service-oriented, communicative and relationship-oriented person who likes to support with your knowledge. You have a passion for network operation, system solutions and enjoy working with technology and finding solutions to problems. You also have the ability to work in an organized and structured way and can explain the solution to our customers in a communicative way.

We also believe that you:

  • have a technical university degree or equivalent experience, e.g. Cisco Academy
  • has at least 2 years of work experience as a network engineer
  • have worked with Cisco products such as routers, switches and with firewalls (Palo Alto)
  • has knowledge of routing protocol (BGP), switching, IP/VPN, MPLS
  • has competence equivalent to Cisco CCNA in routing and switching
  • speaks English fluently
