Software Engineer

SSC is a leading, global provider of advanced space services, with more than 50 years of experience. The Connect division in SSC is focused on providing high quality and innovative ground station services to our customers - the spacecraft operators.

Our customers trust us with their satellite communication. We build fast and reliable services and tools, to ensure that satellite data is transferred safely to the customer. Satellite data has many purposes, from science lab results and earth observations to weather data and tsunami alerts. Our work matters to people and makes a difference for the world.

You will be part of a skilled development team, with team members in Sweden and in the USA. Your team owns the scheduling and resource allocation systems, with a full life-cycle responsibility.

As a Software Engineer, you will:

  • Work with the team on the design of scheduling services.
  • Support our colleagues with antenna control, orbital launch services and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain high quality code for new and existing software applications used to enable SSC’s services.
  • Further improve our processes for automated SW testing and deployment.
  • Promote and refine agile methodologies, principles and values within the teams.
  • Support our customers' missions.

US citizenship is required. The ability to travel if needed is a plus. As this position is critical to the operations of the SSC Services, it may include outside of standard working hours.


  • B.S. Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering, or similar experience
  • Experience from C++, Python and database management
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience


  • Experience with REACT/Javascript
  • Experience of API development using RESTFul(JSON/XML)
  • Experience of DevOps and CI/CD Methodologies
  • Experience from the space industry

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN THE PHILADELPHIA, PA Suburbs. Employees must be available to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
