The Space Safety team at SSC is on a mission to make space safer, more secure, and sustainably operational, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead projects and contribute to our cause.

As a Space Safety Project Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing and managing cutting-edge projects that contribute to the safety and sustainability of space operations. Your responsibilities will include steering projects to successful completion, ensuring adherence to established principles, and fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The Space Safety Program is part of the Business & Technology Innovation (BTI) group at SSC which is responsible for initiating and driving innovative activities on a company-wide basis.

YOUR ROLE

  • Lead the project proposal process, bringing your creative input to shape future initiatives.
  • Manage projects with precision, aligning with established principles, procedures, and processes.
  • Handle administrative and reporting duties, keeping the steering group and stakeholders informed.
  • Foster collaboration within the program, other projects, and the divisional unit.
  • Exercise vigilant oversight, applying change control actions when necessary.
  • Represent the project and program in customer interactions and external forums.

WHO YOU ARE

You are comfortable with working autonomously to drive projects and development forward, and you thrive working in a team environment. To lead and take initiative is second nature to you, reflecting your strong leadership skills. You have great ability to communicate with a diverse audience including national and international stakeholders, and you can prepare both technical and non-technical briefs and status reports to communicate project progress.  

We believe you have:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science or a relevant technical field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably in the space industry.
  • Significant Project Management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent professional proficiency in English.
  • Professional proficiency in Swedish is preferred.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in any Space Safety related field such as space surveillance & tracking (SST), space situational awareness (SSA) or space domain awareness (SDA)
