We want to become more! The Swerim Metals Research Institute conducts industry-oriented research and development on metals and their path from raw material to finished product. We are 200 employees in two locations in Sweden - Luleå and Stockholm. Our vision is a fossil-free and circular industry. The Metallurgy business area is looking for you who want to contribute to the green transition and help create the metallurgical industry of the future. Our research is always done together with industry and includes recycling and circularity, carbon capture and fossil-free, reduced consumption of energy and materials, and development of new processes with sustainability in focus. We carry out simulations and calculations, measurements and trials in industry, and experiments on a lab scale and in our world-unique large-scale pilot and demo facilities. About the position As a researcher and project manager, you will develop, lead and participate in research projects in close collaboration with our industrial partners in an advanced research environment. The work is very varied and can change over time through the development of the area and your own. Tasks include: * Leading and coordinating research projects with industrial partners * Generating new research projects, creating consortia and writing proposals * Experimental activities at pilot and industrial scale * External monitoring and contact with our industrial partners * Knowledge dissemination externally and internally through reports, presentations and meetings * Collaboration externally with industry and academia, and internally with other researchers, process engineers, technicians and support functions About you In terms of education and experience, we envisage that you have: * Scientific/technical academic degree with a focus on metallurgy. Alternatively, a degree in a related field (chemical engineering, materials engineering, energy engineering, engineering physics, etc) and experience in metallurgy. * Good insight into the needs and working methods of industry, and have at least 10 years of relevant work experience working in industry including experience in process development * Experience of working in and leading projects with multiple participants. * Good ability to communicate orally and in writing in English, as the work is conducted in an international context. It is also an advantage if you: * Have experience in managing large projects * Experience in generating, applying for and implementing publicly funded research projects * Have a PhD and have published research in relevant areas * Have experience with measurement techniques and process tools (e.g. HSC, FactSage). * Can communicate in Swedish About your personal qualities, we believe that you: * Can drive work forward independently and lead both yourself and others * Easily collaborate with colleagues and external parties, are responsive and able to understand different perspectives * Are curious, willing and able to explore new areas and think strategically * Is responsible and able to structure and prioritize your work * Have high integrity and a scientific approach * Works according to agreed procedures and contributes to improvements It is important for us that you share our core values of collaboration, commitment, curiosity and integrity as they are fundamental to what we do.
