We want to become more! The Swerim Metals Research Institute conducts industry-oriented research and development on metals and their path from raw material to finished product. We are 200 employees in two locations in Sweden - Luleå and Stockholm. Our vision is a fossil-free and circular industry. . We are growing and looking for a group manager who wants to be involved in developing employees and research in the Metallurgy business area. The focus is to contribute to the development of metallurgical processes in close collaboration with industry to create industrial benefits. We will expand with another research group in metallurgy with a focus area that complements our current organization. Work tasks As a group manager at Swerim, you will be responsible for research, development and the employees within the group. We perform contract research and contribute with expertise and strategic advice to the steel industry. We collaborate closely with companies, public actors, universities and colleges on common challenges. The team consists of 10 researchers and experts, who use well-equipped test halls and collaborate with technicians in the practical parts of the assignments. You will report to the Business Area Manager for Metallurgy and collaborate with other group managers within Swerim to jointly develop the business and operations. We are now looking for an experienced leader with a background in research and development and where experience from industry and the institute sphere is a strong advantage for the role. In addition to leading your team, you will be active in generating and executing work in the research projects, where your scientific background and network in industry will come in handy. Who are you? You have senior skills and experience relevant to the field. Research background and experience in generating and running research projects is highly advantageous. You are a driven and unpretentious leader with a strong business focus. You are motivated by strategic work and driven by achieving results and developing customer relationships together with your colleagues. Collaboration is a natural way of working for you and you have the ability to inspire and lift people. You value people's driving forces and have acquired tools through previous experience to contribute to your colleagues' development. You are communicative and enjoy meeting colleagues and customers at work. Previous experience in human resources and work environment management is an advantage but not a must to be a good leader for the group. The position is a permanent position and the location is Luleå. Travel, national and international, is included in the service.
