About the position Swerim conducts research in close collaboration with world-leading manufacturers and users of high-performance metallic materials. In the Materials Development business area, we work both with the development of materials and the testing of their properties in various applications. Swerim currently has about 190 employees in Sweden, spread over two locations - Luleå and Stockholm. The majority of our employees are research educated or have long industrial experience, making this a unique opportunity to work with some of the foremost experts in the field. You will work with both shorter assignments and longer research projects in close collaboration with industry, other research institutes and universities, both nationally and internationally. Swerim invests heavily in its technology labs, which means that you get to work with the latest test equipment and with the opportunity to adapt and rebuild pilot plants based on customer needs and conditions. Duties and responsibilities The group you will belong to in this role currently consists of 11 people and is responsible for, among other things, the measurement of physical properties such as thermal and electrical properties, which usually involves method development to be able to measure properties under specific conditions. One area under construction is the development of test methodology for testing and evaluating electrical high-current contacts for the automotive industry, another is the evaluation of graphene sensors. The projects vary in length and size, ranging from smaller projects of a few weeks up to 5-10 years.
