Your role on our team In the metering department, you’ll have significant responsibility and autonomy. You will largely plan your work independently in consultation with your immediate colleagues and other internal departments. The position involves a mix of office and field work.
Examples of job responsibilities:
Monitoring and analyzing power quality in Umeå Energi Elnät’s power grid.
Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing existing power quality instruments
Various troubleshooting and corrective actions related to power quality issues
Various troubleshooting and resolution tasks related to billing metering
Planning outages for the installation of additional power quality instruments.
Assist the customer service department with questions regarding billing metering in high-voltage connection matters
Inspections of customer facilities as needed
Programming HSP meters
Conducting loss calculations in the low-voltage grid to detect and address high grid losses.
Planning 6-year inspections of accounts ≥80A
Investigating unauthorized energy diversion as needed
A typical workday might begin with reviewing data and investigating error reports. You’ll also review incoming cases in WMS and assign work orders to metering technicians. If incoming cases require further investigation, you’ll contact electrical contractors. You will also program power quality instruments and HSP meters, as well as perform maintenance on power quality instruments, troubleshoot issues, and address data collection problems in the field. You’ll have ongoing contact with customers, which requires a relationship-focused approach.

To succeed in this role, you need:
A college degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent
Strong collaborative skills
High drive and a solution-oriented approach
Class B driver’s license
It’s a plus if you also have:
Experience with electrical installation work
Good knowledge of power quality
