We are facing an exciting development journey where the broadband business will evolve into a businesslike, robust and future-proof infrastructure business to ensure the city's digitization and the best interests of the residents.
As Head of Communication & Services, you report to the Business Manager Broadband and will have overall responsibility for the development and operational management of our active broadband network and the LoRaWAN platform. You step into a central role where you are part of the management team and lead a unit that actively contributes to both strategic and operational development of the broadband business.
Your role and responsibilities
In the role of Head of Communication & Services, you have the ultimate responsibility for our active broadband network, service platforms and the operational delivery to operators and customers. The role involves clear delivery responsibility and ensuring that the service platforms meet market requirements for quality, availability and competitiveness. You will have full staff responsibility for the unit's employees as well as budget, revenue and profit responsibility. Your main responsibilities include:
Leadership and Development: Leading, coaching and developing employees to build a strong, healthy team that delivers high quality and availability
Operations and Planning: Ensuring high availability, quality of delivery and efficient operations through clear KPI monitoring and continuous improvement, as well as being responsible for technical lifecycle management and development of active components and service platforms.
Business acumen and sustainability: Drive the business in a business-like manner with customer satisfaction and sustainability as key elements. You are responsible for ensuring that the area contributes to the profitability of the broadband business through cost-effective operation and development of competitive services.
Projects and security: Initiate and lead major development projects and develop routines for risk analysis, incident management and compliance
Collaborate: Lead the collaboration with other units within the broadband business and other departments within Umeå Energi, as well as external partners and other network owners in the industry
As a leader, you take responsibility by giving clear direction, showing courage in decisions and being close to your employees in everyday life. We are looking for a business leader with the ability to structure and prioritize in a complex technical environment.
To succeed in the role, you need:
Academic degree in engineering or business, or many years of experience with equivalent skills
Domain knowledge from the telecom or IT industry
Experience in developing business with profit and loss responsibility
Many years of experience in personnel responsibility and change management
Strong communication skills and habit of collaborating across functions
B- driving license
