By sharing knowledge, driving community projects, and supporting a vibrant community life, we’re helping to shape the future.

Your role on our team

As an Operations Manager, you play a central role in ensuring a stable and sustainable district heating supply to Umeå. You’ll lead day-to-day operations, develop the team, and ensure we deliver high-quality service. You’ll coordinate operations, collaborate with other parts of production, and establish structures so we can perform at our best every day.

You’ll work closely with the team and other departments and be an active part of the management team responsible for our combined heat and power plants. Here’s what you’ll do with us

  • Lead and coach the team in their daily work

  • Create structure and clarity

  • Ensure a safe and secure work environment

  • Prioritize and assign work orders and follow up on agreed-upon activities

  • Collaborate with colleagues in operations, maintenance, and planning

  • Drive change initiatives and participate in development projects

  • Handle deviations and take a preventive approach

  • Be responsible for procurement, monitoring, and coordination of suppliers in areas such as chemicals and service delivery

  • Plays a key role in emergency preparedness and during major incidents

You’ll work closely with operations technicians, engineers, production planners, and production managers, and act as the client for external services. Together, we keep Umeå warm—today and in the future.

You’re skilled at prioritizing and maintaining order even when day-to-day operations are complex. At the same time, you are responsive and relationship-oriented, building trust through inclusive leadership.

To succeed in this role, you need

  • A college degree in engineering, energy, production, industrial economics, or equivalent experience

  • Experience in a leadership role, such as a delivery manager, manager, or supervisor

  • Experience in production, process, or industrial operations

  • Ability to work in a structured manner and follow up on results

  • Experience with shift work and change management

  • Previous experience as a client or working with procurement and contract matters
