Flurkmarks School is a newly renovated school located about 2 mil outside of Umeå, serving students from preschool through 6th grade. Safety and well-being are two cornerstones of the school’s operations. All employees share a collective responsibility for every child. We are now looking for an after-school program teacher!

Employment Information

This is a permanent, full-time (100%) position.Planned start date: January 7, 2027.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will work at the after-school program, collaborate with the school, and possibly teach art or physical education.

Your role as an after-school program teacher is to provide meaningful after-school activities based on the students’ needs, interests, and initiatives, while also inspiring them to make new discoveries. Together with your colleagues, you will offer students a variety of approaches, forms of expression, and learning environments where care and learning are integrated. You will collaborate with preschool teachers to help students meet their learning goals. Contact and collaboration with parents and guardians are also an important part of the job.

About You

You are well-versed in the school’s guiding documents and have the ability to adapt instruction and activities based on students’ needs. You are a reassuring adult and a good role model who can connect with students, see each individual, and create a positive learning environment. You motivate students by involving them and encouraging them to share their own ideas. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Certified after-school program teacher
• Holds or has applied for a teaching license
• Experience working with children and students
• Proficiency in spoken and written Swedish
• Valid criminal background check
• Class B driver’s license and access to a personal car; however, this is not a requirement if you can otherwise get to school

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as a teacher in an after-school program
• Qualification to teach art or physical education
