Elderly Care in the Municipality of Umeå aims to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live a safe, independent, and dignified life. Your municipal home care service is the Municipality of Umeå’s own provider of home care services.
Would you like to help shape the future of home care and create the conditions for safe, high-quality, and sustainable elder care?
We are expanding our team with another Assistant Operations Manager who, together with us, wants to shape the future of home care. We look forward to receiving your application!
Your Responsibilities
As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will share responsibility—along with the Operations Manager and your immediate colleague—for operations, finances, quality, and the work environment. You will lead and develop the operations based on the Elderly Care Administration’s goals, strategic direction, and future needs.

The municipal home care service’s night and emergency response team is also part of the operation. The assignment covers all home care services provided at night, including emergency calls and nighttime interventions for both municipal and external service providers.
You will have personnel responsibility for approximately 10 employees and will work in close collaboration with, among others, social services case managers, the health and medical care services, the digitalization unit, and external home care providers.
In this role, you are responsible for developing and monitoring operations to ensure that resources are used efficiently, quality is maintained, and established goals are achieved. You are a member of the operations manager’s leadership team and serve as acting operations manager in her absence.
Together with colleagues and staff, you will be responsible for strategically developing operations based on the city council’s goals, the Elderly Care Committee’s mission plan, and the administration’s strategic direction and goals, and for actively contributing to the achievement of these goals.
