
The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, preschool classes, elementary schools, special education elementary schools, and after-school programs in the municipality. Preschools and elementary schools (grades F–6) are divided into two geographic areas: Southwest and
Northeast. Grades 7–9 are grouped into a single area. Each area is led by an area manager.
Hagaskolan in central Umeå is an F–9 school with adapted and inclusive programs for students with hearing impairments. We have approximately 550 students and 75 educators at the school. The staff is qualified, dedicated, and flexible. We use a wide range of methods, tools, and strong subject knowledge in our teaching. We organize instruction according to the students’ needs and create conditions that allow students to feel involved in their learning and development. Hagaskolan’s student welfare team works closely with the principal to promote student health and learning.
We are now looking for someone who wants to work as an assistant principal for grades 4–6. You will be part of Hagaskolan’s leadership team, where you will contribute to the development of the entire school while also being responsible for grades 4–6. Are you the person we’re looking for?

About You
We are looking for someone with a college degree in education specializing in elementary school. We also want you to have experience in educational work within elementary schools. We prefer that you have experience as a school leader, but if you do not, you must have worked in a role where you have led or coordinated colleagues in educational work. You may have completed recruitment training or an internal trainee program for prospective school leaders.
You have a clear vision for the school and can inspire and engage staff, students, and parents to work toward shared goals. You are a skilled relationship-builder who fosters positive relationships with staff, students, and parents. You actively contribute to collaboration and cooperation within the leadership team to which you belong. It is important that you have strong organizational and planning skills that promote learning and development. You must also communicate clearly and effectively, be confident in making decisions, and stand by those decisions when interacting with students, staff, and parents.
