The education administration is responsible for preschool, preschool class, compulsory school, adapted school and after-school care in the municipality. Preschools and compulsory schools in grades F-6 are divided into two geographical areas, Southwest and Northeast. Grades 7-9 are a single area. Each area is led by an area manager. Sävar school is a three-part school about 15 km north of central Umeå with grades from F-9. With around 750 pupils, the school is Umeå municipality's largest comprehensive school. The school is centrally located in Sävar, close to the sports hall, swimming pool, Sävarån river and nature around the corner. The schoolyard has a large area for outdoor play such as swings, climbing frames, football pitches (in winter there is a hockey rink) and a multi-sports arena. Safety, motivation and knowledge are the key words for our school! We are now looking for you who want to work as an assistant principal for grades F-6 and leisure activities. Are you the one we are looking for? Your work tasks As an assistant principal, you work on behalf of the principal. Based on the principal's delegation, you will be responsible for tasks linked to grades F-6 and leisure activities, which means staff responsibility for approximately 30 employees. There are approximately 460 students in F-6 and after-school programs. The tasks delegated may change over time, but may, for example, involve: quality assurance of teaching student health work staff responsibilities staff planning, recruitment and rehabilitation performance and salary reviews systematic work environment management leading equal opportunities work and coordination of the Safety Team leading work on sustainable development You work closely with your manager, who is the principal for F-6 and also a colleague principal for 7-9. An important part of the assignment is collaboration with them, where consensus, positive expectations and common values set the tone for the working day. You are part of the leadership team for F-6 North East. As a manager in Umeå municipality, we want you to represent the municipality in a trustworthy and positive way. You focus on the benefit to citizens and engage in dialog with your employees about goals and plans so that they understand their role and importance to the whole. It is also important that you stand for common values and are a role model for your colleagues. You encourage your staff to be curious, creative and collaborative, and make both the individual employee and the team visible. About you We are looking for you who have a higher education in education, perhaps with a focus on primary school and/or leisure activities. You have experience of educational work, preferably in primary school and/or after-school care. If you have not worked as a school leader, you need to have worked in a role where you have had to lead or coordinate colleagues as a first teacher, team leader and/or management support. It is an advantage if you have completed recruitment training or an internal trainee program for future school leaders. We are looking for you who have a clear vision for the educational work and can inspire and engage staff, students and guardians in striving towards common goals. You are a good relationship builder who promotes good relations with staff, students and guardians. You also actively contribute to cooperation and collaboration within the management team to which you belong. It is important that you have a good ability to organize and plan the school's activities in a way that promotes learning and development. You also need to have clear and good communication skills and have the courage to make decisions and stand by them in relation to pupils, staff and guardians.
