Umeå Gymnasieskola consists of four upper secondary schools; Dragonskolan, Forslundagymnasiet, Maja Beskow Gymnasiet and Midgårdsskolan. Our schools have almost 3,500 students and in recent years Umeå Gymnasieskola has strengthened its role as one of Sweden's leading school municipalities. We are now looking for a first teacher who wants to be involved in driving our continued joint improvement work so that we can achieve our vision of being Sweden's best upper secondary school in 2025. Form of employment Permanent employment as an upper secondary school teacher. The first teacher appointment extends until 2026-06-30. Work tasks As a first teacher at Umeå Gymnasieskola, you work mainly with teaching and tasks related to teaching. In addition, you are expected to work on delegation from the principal to drive subject development in physics at Dragonskolan. Together with existing first teachers, you will be responsible for leading your colleagues in their professional development and will work to develop collegial learning through supervision, networks and seminars. As a first teacher, you work with the school's systematic quality work. Qualifications We are looking for you who have an upper secondary teacher education with authorization to teach physics. You have current experience of teaching at upper secondary school. We believe that as a teacher, based on research and proven experience, you have shown a particularly good ability to develop your subject with a focus on didactic issues and have shown a particularly good ability to contribute to the school's development and worked actively to promote collegial learning. We are looking for you who have good leadership skills, can work independently and in a structured way and have good collaboration skills. Experience of conducting development work and leading collegial learning is an advantage. In this recruitment, great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. In addition, there are the following requirements from the Swedish National Agency for Education to meet the criteria for employment as a first teacher: Teacher's license (legal requirement from 2014). At least four years of well-recognized work with teaching in the school system.
