Umeå is a city on the rise—with new neighborhoods, exciting projects, and a clear goal of sustainable growth. Within the Real Estate division, we are responsible for acquiring, managing, and divesting properties for municipal operations. Today, we manage just over one million square meters of space, including schools, healthcare and social services facilities, and cultural and recreational facilities.

Our Construction Services team repairs, builds new structures, adds extensions, and adapts facilities to meet the needs of the municipality’s operations. Together, we work every day to create a safe, secure, and well-functioning city.

We are now looking for a temporary mason/tiler and hope you’ll want to join our team!

Your Responsibilities

As a bricklayer/tiler, you will work on maintenance, repairs, and new installations in properties managed by the municipality, such as schools, preschools, senior living facilities, sports facilities, and administrative buildings.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Bricklaying work for renovations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Setting and laying tiles, clinker, and other ceramic materials.
  • Renovating wet areas in accordance with current industry standards.
  • Repairing damaged surfaces, joints, and masonry.
  • Preparatory work such as demolition, sub-base preparation, and leveling.
  • Participation in small-scale remodeling and adaptation projects.
  • Quality control and documentation of completed work.
  • Collaboration with other tradespeople, building services technicians, and project managers.

About You

We are looking for someone with a vocational certificate as a mason/tiler and several years of experience in the trade. You must also have a Class B driver’s license and a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

To succeed and thrive in this role, you are:

  • Independent and responsible.
  • Service-oriented and solution-focused.
  • Meticulous and quality-conscious.
  • Flexible and a team player.

The job involves heavy lifting.

We look forward to receiving your application!
