Are you the one? The Environment and Health Protection Department is in an exciting phase of development where we work together to ensure that Umeå municipality grows sustainably and strengthens its environmental and sustainability work.
We are now looking for a business developer who wants to take a key role in this important work and help shape the processes, working methods and digital solutions of the future. The department consists of around 80 employees spread across four units - ranging from environmental inspectors and environmental investigators to advisors and alcohol officers. Together, we represent a broad mix of experience, educational backgrounds and skills that contribute to a dynamic and development-oriented working environment.

Your tasks
As a business developer with us, you will have a key role in the business. You will be a driving force in our change and development work, where you develop and implement working methods that strengthen the quality and efficiency of the business. You act as the department's expert support in digitization and IT and system support and as an important link between business and IT - always with the goal of creating sustainable, smart and user-friendly solutions.
You will;
work with digital development and systems
be responsible for the digital development of the department, including open data, service design and e-services
plan and manage procurements together with buyers, develop specifications and evaluate and test system solutions
interact with the IT department to ensure that the department's IT equipment meets the needs of the business.
work on processes, quality and governance
identify, analyze and develop processes to improve quality and increase customer value
being responsible for the department's administrative templates, procedures and information material, including web content
supporting the management team in the development, updating and follow-up of governing documents such as supervision plans, quality declarations and tariffs - including through work in PowerBi
monitoring legislation, regulatory changes and trends in the built environment sector
be responsible for parts of the administrative processes linked to the Environmental and Health Protection Board.
leading and collaborating
leading the department's development work and coordinating administrative, cross-departmental projects and assignments
reporting regularly to the head of department and heads of unit on the status and progress of development work
participating in the department's management team
represent the department in the administration's quality management and digitalization network
representing the department in the system management of e-services, IT and case management systems (e.g. ECOS/ATOM)
About you
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in developing activities and who is driven by creating improvements that make a real difference. You have a clear commitment to change and thrive in a role where you combine analysis, structure and collaboration.
We are looking for you who have
experience, preferably of several years, in business development, project management and/or digitalization work.
a university degree or other post-secondary education deemed relevant by the employer
very good digital skills - you are confident in a digital work environment, learn new IT systems quickly and work easily in various digital tools.
excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in Swedish and English.
It is an advantage if you have experience of:
work in municipal processes
record keeping and case management
work in the field of environmental and health protection.
