About us
The Umeå Region Fire Department includes Umeå, Vindeln and Robertsfors municipalities. We work with preventive fire protection and rescue services for about 140,000 people in one of Sweden's most expansive regions. We are currently in an exciting development phase where we are going from one to two full-time stations in Umeå and expanding our workforce significantly in the coming years. The new fire station in Tomtebostrand is expected to be completed in 2028.
Together with 16 other municipalities in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, we are part of the joint rescue management system Räddningssamverkan Nord.
Your tasks
The role is a combined position where you divide your time between operational management functions and strategic development work.
Operational part: You work in one of our management functions, for example as an incident commander or regional incident commander based in Umeå, and/or as an alarm and management officer or duty officer at the rescue center in Luleå. The work includes both day and night shifts.
Development part: The remaining time you work on running, developing and following up specific work areas. It can be about response planning, learning after events, internal exercise activities or other projects based on the needs of the organization. The work during the development part mainly takes place during office hours, with good opportunities for teleworking when the business allows.
About you
We are looking for you with a strong commitment and independent drive. You are proactive, structured and have a pedagogical ability. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
Requirements for the position:
Minimum education LK1 via MCF or equivalent older education (e.g. Rescue Leader A).
Very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.
Good computer skills (Office and Teams).
B driving license.
Meritorious:
Education LK2 (Rescue Management B) or fire engineer with extension RUB.
Experience of operational work as an officer in the rescue service.

Working hours: Work in function consists of day and night shifts. Other time mainly office hours.
