
The meal service in the Municipality of Umeå includes the preparation and serving of lunches in preschools, elementary schools, and high schools, as well as in restaurants and at several facilities providing elder care. Our mission is to provide excellent service and nutritious, healthy meals for our diners and, together with school and care staff, to foster an understanding of the importance of food for good health and well-being. Through public meal services, we contribute to public health and sustainable development.
Dragonskolan is one of Sweden’s largest high schools. More than 2,200 high school students gather here every day in central facilities. The school offers Umeå’s widest range of programs and provides high-quality education in a wide variety of fields.

Your Responsibilities
Other duties that may arise by mutual agreement include the authority to post invoices according to a list, hire temporary staff for a specific period, and follow self-inspection procedures.
Heavy lifting is required at the workplace.
About You
We are looking for someone with formal chef training or work experience deemed equivalent. We also expect you to have experience working as a chef in a commercial kitchen. You also have a good command of spoken and written Swedish.
In your work, you are eager to take responsibility and take the initiative to suggest improvements. Naturally, you have a genuine interest in food. You possess strong communication skills, as the role involves collaborating with colleagues, children, and school teachers. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
In accordance with the Act on Suitability Checks, an extract from the police criminal records must be presented upon hiring, as the position is located at a school.
