Meal service in Umeå municipality includes the preparation and serving of lunches in both pre- and compulsory schools, upper secondary schools, restaurants and several units in elderly care. Our task is to provide good service and good healthy meals for our diners and to create an understanding of the importance of food for good health and well-being together with the staff in schools and care. Lundagård is a collaborative building where preschools, care homes and production kitchens are located. We are located at Sofiehem, close to both the university and Norrland University Hospital. In the kitchen, a large number of food portions are prepared and distributed to homes and preschools around Umeå municipality. Right now we are looking for a chef, do you want to be part of us? Your tasks As a chef with us, you are responsible for cooking and special food handling. In Lundagård's production kitchen, we care about cooking from scratch in terms of menu, cooking methods and consistency adaptation. You work with self-monitoring, dishwashing, cleaning and other common tasks in commercial kitchens. You provide good service and help us get satisfied diners. You will work as a meal service chef throughout Umeå municipality and cover other kitchens when needed. We offer a social and developing work with a lot of variety! Working hours are during the day on weekdays and weekends. About you We are looking for you with chef training and experience of working in commercial kitchens, preferably towards elderly care. The service also requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, to ensure safe and clear communication with residents, children, relatives and colleagues in both elderly care and preschool. High cooperation skills and good social skills are important in the service as the work involves close contact with both colleagues and those we serve. We also see that you are sensitive to be able to perceive and understand different needs, treat people in the right way and create a safe and respectful environment.
