Meal service in Umeå municipality includes the preparation and serving of lunches in both pre- and compulsory school, upper secondary school, restaurant and to several units in elderly care. Our task is to provide good service and good healthy meals for our diners and to create an understanding of the importance of food for good health and well-being together with the staff in schools and care. Through public meals, the food service contributes to good public health and sustainable development. Täfteå school is a F-6 school with approximately 200 pupils. There are three cooks working in the kitchen who together handle all the tasks. In addition to the 200 eating at the school, we send food to two preschools in Täfteå, Marinan and Fyren, which is another 80 children. We are now looking for you who want to work as a chef with us! Your tasks As a chef, you work in the kitchen with a wide range of tasks. Together with your colleagues, you plan and carry out the day's work to create tasty and nutritious meals. Tasks include cooking, preparing special diets, preparing salads, washing up and cleaning, and serving. Administrative tasks are also involved, such as self-monitoring (HACCP) and ordering. You will be responsible for ensuring that meals are tasty, sustainable, appealing and nutritious - while keeping the budget balanced. About you We are looking for you who have a chef's education and experience in catering kitchens, self-control and special food. You also have good computer skills. The position requires you to have a good knowledge of Swedish and basic knowledge of English, as you as a chef in primary school need to be able to understand instructions, safety procedures and communicate with colleagues and students. As a person, you are structured and work in a responsible manner. You enjoy collaborating and actively contribute ideas to develop the business. You have a genuine interest in cooking and enjoy creating delicious and nutritious meals for children and students. You communicate clearly and treat colleagues, partners and the people we serve in a professional and inclusive way. A B-driving license and access to your own car is a requirement due to sparse public transport. Heavy lifting may occur in the work.
