We are looking for a communicator to the Program Department, the unit for Events and Stages!

Umeå is known for its creative climate with a rich, inspiring cultural life, often of national importance. Here you will find, among other things, the cultural center Väven, an opera house, four esteemed museums, influential festivals, a world-class sculpture park, art galleries, a renowned film festival, Sweden's largest literature festival, music, dance and theater groups for all ages and much more.

Now we are looking for a communicator to the Program Department, the unit for Events and scenes. The unit also includes technicians, producers and booking coordinators of events, program coordinators for Culture for Seniors, digital coordinators and the staff of the Cultural Reception.

Your tasks

As a communicator, you are responsible for communicating and making visible the public cultural events that are carried out in Väven. A large part of this is production, such as advertising, social media management, print ordering, layout, text editing, media contact and more. You will be expected to plan, implement and evaluate communication activities and coordinate the statistical output of the activities. Invoicing, budget responsibility and financial follow-up are also part of the assignment.

You work both independently and together with many different professional groups within the Cultural Administration and with external contacts.

About you

To succeed in the role, we see that you have a good ability to work in a structured way and to plan your work effectively. Since the work involves contacts both internally and externally, it is also important that you have good collaboration skills, are communicative and educational and always try to create the best possible meeting with those you meet in your work. You have the ability to lead, drive and follow up the communication process and you strive to develop the work. To succeed, you need to be able to manage several tasks in parallel, sometimes within tight deadlines. Of course, you are creative and have a good sense of color and form. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements for the position:

• Academic education in communication, marketing or other academic education we consider relevant to the position.
• Several years of experience working as a communicator or similar.
• Experience working with communication planning, social media, text production, layout and graphic design for printed materials.
• Experience in budget planning, web management and production of press releases and print orders.
• Understanding of spoken and written Swedish and English.
• Very good knowledge of the Office package, InDesign and Photoshop.

We see it as a merit if you have experience of:

• Events and cultural activities.
• Photography, filmmaking and editing.
• Work in publicly governed activities.

The position is located in Väven. Evenings and weekends may occur.
