The work of a chef As a chef with us, you will be responsible for leading and planning the kitchen work and you will have a central role in creating high-quality meals. Together with your colleagues in the kitchen, you create a pleasant meal environment for our diners. You will work closely with both colleagues and diners, helping to maintain the high quality of our service. Our kitchen is a place where every dish we serve is a chance to make a difference, whether it's food for preschoolers or for our elderly. We constantly strive to improve both flavors and work processes to make meals the best they can be. Södra Ålidhem is a school from preschool class to year 9 where we cook about 400 portions per day. Two cooks and a meal assistant work there. The school is part of the Schoolfood for Change project and has been working with local prao for the past year. Norra Ålidhem is an evacuation school where middle school students from Carlshöjd and Innertavle will be staying this fall. The kitchen there is relatively newly built, with large areas and large capacity. At present, we are looking for a cook there who will work together with a meal assistant. After some time, the service will be able to be moved to another kitchen or become an itinerant chef service. Your tasks: Planning and preparation of meals, including special diets Self-monitoring and invoice management Ordering and purchasing raw materials Washing dishes and maintenance of both kitchen and equipment Daily contact with pupils, pre-school children, elderly and colleagues When hiring, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented, due to the law on suitability control. About you We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in food and who are passionate about creating tasty, healthy meals. We believe that you have experience working in a kitchen and that you are a person who is happy to contribute ideas to develop and improve the business. We want you to have: A proven chef training, secondary education or other equivalent training. Experience of working in a commercial kitchen Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing Basic computer skills, including familiarity with digital tools for ordering and administration To thrive in the role, we believe you are: Service-oriented and eager to create a positive dining experience for our guests Structured and accurate with a desire to maintain high quality An enterprising team player who likes development and improvement work.
