As a development strategist, you are responsible for creating good conditions for the municipality's crime prevention work. You are part of a team of development strategists with the task of coordinating overall efforts, monitoring crime trends, exchanging information and promoting cooperation across organizational boundaries - all to meet common societal challenges and contribute to a safe and secure Umeå. The work is varied and gives a lot of room for maneuver, which requires that you enjoy planning your own workday, are confident in your role and have a genuine interest in working with others. The position is located at the City Management Office, Strategic Development Department. We initiate, lead and coordinate assignments of a strategic and operational nature that are of importance for Umeå's sustainable growth. Together with other strategists and other functions within the municipality, you collaborate for a socially sustainable Umeå Your tasks As a development strategist, you will, together with colleagues, coordinate Umeå municipality's work on crime prevention. More specifically, you will; coordinate and develop the Crime Prevention Council (Umebrå) work with coordination in specific areas (e.g. violence prevention and ANDTS work), position Umeå as a leading city in the field of crime prevention through participation in national arenas and networks, project manage large and small projects and assignments, creating collaboration and coordinating project applications with partners, providing expert support in various contexts and drafting policy documents for decisions, prepare presentation materials and represent Umeå municipality in various contexts, monitor relevant subject areas to provide others with information about what is going on. About you We are looking for you with an academic education in a relevant field (e.g. criminology, political science, sociology, public health science, social work) or other education that the employer considers equivalent. If you have training in project management, we see it as a merit. The position requires; work experience in tasks similar to those of the post experience in project and/or mission management experience in change management to bring about societal transformation in collaboration with stakeholders ability to give summary presentations on complex issues to clients (e.g. politicians and civil servants, the public) experience in conducting meetings and workshops good oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English. We would like you to have experience in; work in a policy-driven organization work in the field of crime prevention, violence prevention and/or ANDTS-related issues, building contacts and networks, internally and externally at local, regional and national level innovation work and organizational development. You have a strong ability to initiate, adapt and lead change and development efforts. The role requires you to manage rapid change and work to tight deadlines. You will have considerable responsibility for prioritizing your tasks and making decisions, often in consultation with others. We are looking for someone who is energized by building relationships and speaking in front of groups. You are adept at explaining complex issues in a clear and engaging way, both orally and in writing, in Swedish and English. You are communicative, collaborative and have the ability to both pursue issues independently and actively seek collaboration with others. The work requires you to be analytical, structured, creative and have good judgment with high integrity. You are unpretentious, willing to share your knowledge and actively contribute to joint solutions.
