About the role

As an economist at Umeå municipal company, you work close to the business and broadly with financial administration and support for several companies within the group. You will be part of a central finance function that acts as a finance department for various businesses with varying needs, size and complexity.

The role suits you who thrive in a broad role where you work with everything from ongoing accounting and administration to understanding the context and challenges of the business. The role also involves helping to support young entrepreneurs together with the incubator BIC Factory.

Your tasks

The role includes:

• Work with day-to-day accounting, financial statements and reconciliations

• Manage payroll and payroll-related issues, such as pensions

• Work with accounts receivable and accounts payable

• Support businesses with financial monitoring, budget work and reporting

• Participate in work on grant projects and some insurance-related administration

• Participate in the development and streamlining of financial processes, including digitization

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who want to work broadly with finance and who appreciate having many contact surfaces. You are confident in your financial skills and enjoy supporting different businesses based on their needs.

We see that you have:

• Academic degree in finance, for example MBA or equivalent

• Multi-year experience (around 5 years or more) in advanced finance work

• Practical experience in accounting and reporting

• Experience working broadly in finance, preferably in a smaller organization or consultant/agency role

• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing

Additional:

• Experience in payroll and HR related financial matters

• Interest in or experience with digitization and automation of financial processes
