Pre- and compulsory school administration includes the activities of preschools, compulsory schools and their associated activities. The administration is led by the Director of Education and has a total of about 3,700 employees. In our office, about 50 people work in management, finance, HR, exercise of authority and office.
In the finance unit, there are currently 8 employees. Our task is to work together to create the conditions for good financial management and to support our managers and politicians with good decision-making data in the financial area. Our task is also to lead, coordinate and develop the financial processes.
We are now looking for a deputy economist for our unit!
Your duties
In this role, you will mainly work with follow-up and forecasting. Your work will largely involve meeting with principals, leaders and managers to present and jointly analyze financial data. In this way, you will provide important support to both the financial manager and the heads of operations. The work is close to the business and you will be part of developing pre-school and primary school activities in Umeå municipality.
The role may also include some work with budgets and financial statements.
About you
We are looking for you who have a master's degree in economics or the equivalent and work experience. You have very good knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of other applications in the Office package. We would like to see that you have experience of financial or follow-up systems - for example Hypergene, Visma or similar.
Your personal qualities are important and we want you to be communicative, careful and structured and have good analytical and pedagogical skills. It is important that you can explain economics in an educational way to those who are not economists. In dialog with various stakeholders, you are responsive and unpretentious. You enjoy working both independently and with others. You also have an unimpeded knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing. We place great emphasis on personal applicability.
