Östra Ersbodaskolan is a small, dynamic school offering preschool through third grade, as well as a specialized elementary school program focused on specific subject areas. The school is staffed by competent professionals and serves students from many different cultural backgrounds. There are excellent opportunities for outdoor activities. A library, an art studio, a soccer field, and a lighted running trail are located right next to the school. We are now looking for a substitute elementary school teacher for grades 1–3!

Employment Information

This is a full-time substitute teaching position, starting January 8, 2027, through June 16, 2027.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as a mentor for third-grade students, responsible for planning and teaching in collaboration with your mentor colleague.

Furthermore, as a teacher in elementary school, your role is to plan lessons based on the curriculum, as well as to engage in broader planning together with colleagues. You will, both individually and together with colleagues, monitor, evaluate, and analyze instruction, as well as assess and document students’ academic progress. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that helps students achieve their goals; you are also responsible for informing students and guardians about the student’s academic progress.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive

learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school’s guiding documents. You differentiate and vary your instruction based on students’ needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teaching role is building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Certified elementary school teacher qualified to teach grades 1–3.
• Holds or has applied for a teaching license.
• Valid criminal background check.
• Good command of spoken and written Swedish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualification in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA).
• Experience teaching SVA.
• Proficiency in other languages.
• Experience teaching in a multicultural environment.
