We have a shared strategy for education in our municipality: to create a cohesive educational pathway that contributes to greater equity, improved academic outcomes, and attractive educational opportunities. Here, all children, young people, and adults should have the opportunity to reach their full potential and develop their knowledge and skills. We know that this relies on dedicated, knowledgeable, and professional staff who provide high-quality instruction. We make a difference every day and are proud of our mission. We have Sweden’s most important job—our mission is to give young people hope for the future.

Sjöfruskolan is located in the Tomtebo residential area in the eastern part of Umeå. The school was expanded with additional adapted classrooms and a new school cafeteria during the fall semester of 2024 and offers classes from preschool through 6th grade, including an after-school program. We learn, collaborate, and take responsibility for a sustainable lifestyle and world. We thrive and build the future together. This vision is very much alive in our daily lives and is reflected, among other things, in the fact that all children are everyone’s children and that all educators at the school take responsibility for ensuring that every child achieves their goals.

We are now seeking an elementary school teacher to teach textile crafts!
