Sävar School is a pre-K through 9th-grade school with approximately 700 students. Nearby, there is a swimming pool, a sports hall, and natural surroundings, and the schoolyard features, among other things, a multisport arena. We are now looking for an elementary school teacher to teach Spanish to grades 7–9!

Employment Information

This is a permanent, full-time position, starting January 8, 2027.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will teach Spanish to grades 7–9 and may also serve as a mentor for a class. Your role as a teacher in elementary school is to plan and conduct lessons based on the curriculum, as well as to engage in broader planning together with your colleagues. You will, both individually and with colleagues, monitor, evaluate, and analyze instruction, as well as assess and document students’ academic progress. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that helps students achieve their goals. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the students’ academic progress.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, as well as structure and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school’s policy documents. You differentiate and vary your instruction based on students’ needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to professional learning among colleagues. An important part of the teaching role is building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Teaching certification and qualification to teach Spanish for grades 7–9
  • Valid criminal background check
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualification to teach English and/or Swedish
  • Experience working with middle school students
