The Employment and Integration Department is responsible for the integration of new arrivals, labor market issues and the municipal activity responsibility in Umeå municipality. We are an important actor in the work for social sustainability and inclusion and support people on their way to work or study. At the same time, we contribute to employers' skills supply and to the development of inclusive workplaces. Our mission is to create confidence in the future. The department provides support to participants who need coordinated efforts to progress towards work or study. The work is mainly done in close collaboration with, among others, the Social Services, the Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service, Region Västerbotten, the Prison and Probation Service and employers. The Labour Market and Integration Department is also a party to the collaborative platform Arbetsmarknadstorget, where we, together with authority partners, offer coordinated support to people in need of joint efforts towards work or study. The activities are greatly affected by social developments, political decisions, changes in legislation and labor market conditions. One example is the upcoming activity requirement reform in income support (decision planned for March 2026). These changes in the operating environment require continuous development and adaptation of operations. We are now looking forward to welcoming a labor market consultant to our team! Type of employment The position is a permanent position, full-time, starting on March 16, 2026 or as agreed. Your work tasks Strengthen the skills and employability of participants with the aim of work or study. Provide support to participants and employers, both in the workplace (supervisor support/introduction support, follow-up, etc.) and through motivational, exploratory conversations and activities focusing on strengths and health factors. Work individually with participants/employers and implement activities in groups of participants. Collaborate with relevant actors such as Social Services, the Public Employment Service, Region Västerbotten, the Prison and Probation Service, employers and the participant's network based on a common method. Work according to guiding principles and working methods based on motivational interviewing, empowerment and supported employment/education. Document each participant in the operational system according to procedures and guidelines. Actively contribute to continuously improving individual working methods and the organization's methods to enable more people to work, study and skills provision for employers. We attach great importance to your personal suitability. Requirements University degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, education or equivalent. Good knowledge of the labor market and educational pathways. Knowledge in the areas of physical and mental health, rehabilitation and disabilities. Experience in supporting individuals towards work and study. Experience of working with employers to enable employment in workplaces. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, and basic knowledge of English. B driving license. Meritorious Experience of collaboration with various social actors and authorities.
