The support and care administration in Umeå Municipality is now looking for a family counselor to start in August or by agreement. It is a statutory activity and is offered to people living in Umeå and Umeå's surrounding municipalities.

The task of the family counseling is to help process cohabitation problems and conflicts in family relationships through conversations. The work is based on a neutral and respectful approach where the relationship is at the center and both parties' perspectives are taken into account. The conversations aim to strengthen relationships, improve communication and manage conflicts - or to enable a sustainable separation.

Your tasks

As a family counselor, you conduct process and goal-oriented, advisory or treatment conversations depending on the wishes and needs of the visitors. The client work is independent and based on the Family Counseling's common mission. The conversations focus on relationships and deal with, for example, crisis processing, conflict management and cohabitation problems. The business also strives to work preventively and outwardly with support and information, in collaboration with other activities.

About you

We are looking for you who have a professional approach. As a person, you are confident, stable and have good collaboration skills and are accommodating and responsive in your treatment of both colleagues and visitors. You see opportunities in changes and contribute to the further development of the business. You have an interest and ability to independently seek and absorb new relevant knowledge in the field. It is a matter of course for you to take a child perspective in your work and you are positive about collaboration with other actors for the benefit of children. We attach great importance to personal suitability.

Requirements

• Socionomy degree or equivalent higher education with a behavioral focus
• Basic psychotherapy training equivalent to step 1
• Unhindered knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing

Additional

• Experience in family treatment work
• Additional education in relevant areas, e.g. sexology, relationship violence, etc.e.g. sexology, relationship violence or crisis/trauma
