The field group is part of Umeå Social Services and belongs to the Prevention Unit.
The group conducts preventive and relationship-building work through outreach efforts in public environments where young people spend time. The aim is to identify young people at risk at an early stage, i.e. young people who are at risk of harm based on the environments and contexts they are in.
The field team meets young people who are at risk of developing unfavorably in various ways. Our mission is to pay attention to their individual needs and mediate contact to the right support measures. This may involve, for example, parental contact, Ingången alcohol and drug counseling, child and adolescent psychiatry, youth clinic or social services' exercise of authority. The target group is young people in Umeå municipality aged 12-20, with a particular focus on young people under 18.
We are now looking for a new colleague to join our dedicated team!
Your tasks
The field team operates at three levels to meet the needs identified through outreach work; community, group and individual level:
The community level includes the Field Team's general outreach work in the various environments. This means that you work with activities such as lectures/parent meetings/information and opinion-forming initiatives. As well as information/knowledge within your own organization and cooperation with other professional groups.
The group level can be general work aimed at the youth group as a whole. For example, it may involve a cohort of pupils who will have theme days or drug prevention work in which you participate. It can also involve targeted work aimed at groups of young people who are at greater risk of adverse development. Another important part of the Field Group's work is to bring parents together for concern meetings. This happens when you and your colleagues have concerns about a particular group of young people.
At the individual level, the aim is to identify and refer young people who are at risk and prevent further unfavorable development. This can be done through motivational conversations and activities with the young person concerned and through concern discussions with parents. The work is based on the relationship between the young person and you as a "field worker" and is built up through the contact established in the outreach work.
Working hours are day, evening and weekend.
