Application due date 14 May 2026
Are you the one?

Imagine a job where relationship building is at the center. You meet young people in their everyday lives, take the first step to connect and build trust through conversations that make a difference. By listening to their perspectives, needs and ideas for the future, you can help lay the foundations for new opportunities. In collaboration with other important social actors - such as schools, civil society, leisure activities and social services - you contribute to joint solutions and preventive work that strengthens young people's path forward.

Fältgruppen is part of Umeå Social Services and belongs to the Prevention Unit. The group conducts preventive and relationship-building work through outreach efforts in public environments where young people spend time. The aim is to identify young people at risk at an early stage, i.e. young people who are at risk of harm based on the environments and contexts they are in.

The field group meets young people who are at risk of developing unfavorably in various ways. Our mission is to pay attention to their individual needs and mediate contact to the right support measures. This may involve, for example, parental contact, Ingången alcohol and drug counseling, child and adolescent psychiatry, youth clinic or social services' exercise of authority. The target group is young people in Umeå municipality aged 12-20, with a special focus on young people under the age of 18.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our dedicated team!

Your tasks

The field group operates at three levels to meet the needs identified through the outreach work; community, group and individual level:

  • The community level includes the Field Group's general outreach work out in the various environments. This means that you work with activities such as lectures / parent meetings / information and opinion-forming efforts. As well as information/knowledge within your own organization and cooperation with other professional groups.
  • The group level can be general work aimed at the youth group as a whole. For example, it may involve a cohort of pupils who will have theme days or drug prevention work in which you participate. It can also involve targeted work aimed at groups of young people who are at greater risk of adverse development. Another important part of the Field Group's work is to bring parents together for concern meetings. This takes place when you and your colleagues feel concern about a certain group of young people.
  • The individual level aims to capture and channel the young person who is at risk and prevent further unfavorable development. This can be done through motivational conversations and activities with the young person concerned and through concern discussions with parents. The work is based on the relationship between the young person and you as a "field worker" and is built up through the contact established in the outreach work.

The working hours are scheduled day, evening and weekend.
