Are you the one? The Pre- and Compulsory Education Administration works on behalf of the Pre- and Compulsory Education Committee.
The administration will formally enter into force on 1 January 2026. Work is therefore underway to develop a functional and professional education organization based on the school principal's mission to design a good quality education.
The Pre- and Compulsory School Board has overall responsibility for ensuring that all children registered in the municipality have access to pre-school and educational care, as well as schooling in the municipality's own or independent activities. The board is responsible for municipal preschools, including preschools in minority languages, educational care in the form of daycare and night-time activities, preschool classes, compulsory schools, adapted compulsory schools and after-school clubs. The Board must ensure that municipal education is based on fundamental democratic values and the equal value of all children and pupils. The Board's activities involve around 3 700 employees and around 19 600 children and pupils. The total budget is 2.3 billion.

Your work tasks
As Head of Finance, you are responsible for budget and financial issues, accounting and financial follow-up within the Pre- and Compulsory School Administration. You will provide strategic support to the Director of Education and provide the Pre- and Compulsory Schools Committee with high-quality decision-making support.
The Pre- and Compulsory School Administration is facing major challenges linked to demographic changes and a reduction in the number of children. This means that we need to be able to adapt our processes, working methods and resources quickly and efficiently. As Head of Finance, you will have a central role in this change process. We want you to contribute with business intelligence, analysis, management and financial decision support that enables wise and sustainable priorities.
You will lead a team of competent economists and controllers and also work operationally to develop our financial processes together with your colleagues. You are part of the Director of Education's management team and are part of the municipality's financial manager network where you contribute to developing financial work from a municipality-wide perspective.

About you
We are looking for you who have an academic degree with a focus on economics. You also have several years of experience in advanced financial and planning work, perhaps in politically controlled organizations, but this is not a requirement. You may also have worked as a manager, but the important thing is that you have experience of managing advanced processes in the field of finance.
We are looking for you with good leadership skills who have a strong commitment and show a desire to contribute to a professional municipal education organization. You need to have a good strategic ability while being able to contribute operationally in improving our daily processes and working methods. The transition work requires a person who sees opportunities, is proactive and dares to propose and test new solutions. You are used to presenting financial issues to management, board or committee and communicate clearly and pedagogically. We also want you to communicate very well in writing. Good cooperation skills, good structure and planning skills are a prerequisite for success in the assignment.
