We are now looking for a unit manager who wants to be part of our team! The management unit currently consists of seven employees and is part of the Environment and Health Protection Department. Here, several different professions meet, which creates a developing and rewarding work environment. Our administrators work with the entire breadth of social work - with the exception of official decisions. The task is to apply for interventions for people who need a representative, so-called principals. The work is always based on each individual's needs and circumstances, with the aim of creating the best possible living conditions. The trustee represents and safeguards the interests and rights of the principal in daily life, both socially and financially. The department employs around 80 people in total, in a number of different units. Together, we are part of the municipality's efforts to shape a society that is socially, ecologically, culturally and economically sustainable. Our goal is to contribute to a safe, secure and long-term sustainable society with good living environments. Your tasks As Head of Unit, you will have overall responsibility for business development, finance, human resources and work environment. Your assignment means that you lead, plan, develop and follow up the unit's work and assignment based on current legislation, set goals and legally secure processing. You are responsible for providing employees with the conditions to carry out high-quality work, and you encourage and stimulate your employees to develop and innovate in their work. You are responsible for streamlining work processes and developing cooperation and collaboration both internally and externally. The assignment involves close cooperation with the guardianship authorities. You are part of the Environment and Health Protection Department's management team where you are expected to contribute to good cooperation for the entire department and Umeå municipality as a whole. About you To succeed in this role, we are looking for you who have a social worker degree or other equivalent education. Previous experience of leadership including personnel, financial and work environment responsibility is a requirement. We would like to see that you have experience of exercising authority, trusteeship or experience of social work, linked to socially vulnerable people. We want you to be able to lead and inspire your colleagues in a committed way. You are used to holding information in different contexts and have good communication skills in both speech and writing. You contribute to good cooperation, create commitment and contribute to a positive working environment. Your good teamwork skills are also reflected in your interaction with partners. You are a confident and courageous leader with a solution-oriented approach. To thrive in the role, you need to be unpretentious and able to handle work with a high level of integrity.
