The Upper Secondary and Adult Education Committee is responsible for the municipality’s obligations under education legislation regarding upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, special education for adults, and Swedish language instruction for immigrants. The Board is also responsible for work-oriented rehabilitation and the municipality’s refugee reception services. Midgårdsskolan is an upper secondary school that offers three college-preparatory programs, an introductory program, and adapted upper secondary education. Approximately 800 students attend the school, and their opportunity to achieve good results in a safe and creative environment is a key guiding principle for everyone who works here. Midgårdskolan is a place of knowledge and culture, and our guiding principles are “dare, create, grow.” We offer all specializations within the Aesthetics Program.

We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a substitute art teacher with us!

Employment Type

This is a full-time temporary position, starting October 26, 2026, and ending June 23, 2027.

Your Responsibilities

You will teach in the Visual Arts and Design specialization of the Aesthetics Program, both within the national program and the introductory program.

You will be responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on instruction with a focus on developing students’ practical and creative skills in visual arts and design.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated teacher who wants to help continue developing the Visual Arts and Design track. You stay up to date on industry developments, have a broad network of contacts, and are passionate about inspiring and nurturing students in their learning.

You possess strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills that enable you to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities. With your holistic approach to learning, you recognize the value of collaborating closely with colleagues to create the best conditions for students’ development. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsive, committed, and proactive—with the student always at the center. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

  • Certified high school teacher with certification in Visual Arts (Levels 1–3), Aesthetic Communication, and Visual Arts and Design
  • Experience teaching at the high school level
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written Swedish
  • Valid criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Media Production, Digital Creation, or Architecture and Design
  • Knowledge in the fields of form, media, design, or architecture
  • Experience teaching at the elementary school level
